Okay, so here I am checking in again, partially due to a humorous situation from yesterday and today. The story is this - I have a Facebook account, but I haven’t been on it for the last 2 months or so since before school let out for the summer. Yesterday, when I got on it, I changed my status message to say that I’m wondering if my Facebook account is going to be like my blog – something I almost never touch. Shortly after that, someone posted to my wall, “What’s your blog?” My response was - something I almost never use or post on. :( I had to laugh since someone was wanting to see my blog, which I was slightly embarrassed to say had not been touched recently either.
So here I am now in the midst of all the busy-ness of the summer, posting now on my blog. Life is about change, and change is what’s happening right now. Our pastor recently resigned to become a VP at Clearwater Christian College, and his last day was this past Sunday. Now we begin the arduous journey of finding the next pastor, and there are questions and rumors everywhere. Who’s doing this? Who’s responsible for that? Are you leaving? Any word on what the pulpit committee’s doing? Argh!!! But that’s life.
The best part about life is that we have a God who cares. A God who cares enough to keep caring, no matter what situation we’re in. A God who’s good enough and powerful enough to work everything out for the good (in the end) of those who love God and are the called. Psalm 18:31 says, “For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?” Psalm 107 begins, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” Our God is great, but our God is also good. On Him, we can always depend!

Busy Weekend...
Whew! As promised, I am going to try to keep this a little more updated this summer. We just got back from a weekend trip to Pennsylvania. We stayed at a beautiful Bed & Breakfast near Clarion, PA, called the Inn at Five Point. The couple was really nice, and they have put a lot of work into the place. We also found out that they are Christians and go to a Baptist church nearby.
One of the main purposes of our trip however was to go pick out our new beagle. When we got there on Friday, we had some time with all four of the males - three of them were black with a darker brown underbelly (kind of like a Doberman or Rottweiler would be) but one was brown and white with a little bit of blue-tick. He's actually a really good-looking dog. You can see some pictures of him here. He's cute and all, but it's going to be tough trying to housebreak him and doing the other basic dog commands. I'm told that since he'll mature a lot in the next 2 weeks (he's 6 weeks now), and I'm looking forward to that!
Well, anyway, it's back to work today for me (minus the quick break for a blog post). Trying to figure out how to create a website using Visual Studio and getting absolutely nowhere today. I wish we could pay someone else to do the work... but then I'd not learn anything, right? So maybe it's better this way. I just don't know that I like it right now. Okay, later...

Back to Blogging?
Wow... Seems hard to believe that it's been almost 2 years since I last posted here. I had a little bit of struggle with the whole can't-remember-my-password thing, and then I had to convert it over to a Google account (yeah, gmail!), but here I am.
I'm hoping that in the next few months I can get back to blogging more regularly. There should be some slight job re-alignment going on in the next few months, which should lead to a slightly-less-stressed life. And that will be good, because I need a break after these last 2 years. Since I last posted, Kim and I got married in Florida, went on our honeymoon to the Bahamas, and moved to Owings Mills (next town or two over). Kim stopped teaching, went back to school for physical therapy, works in a P.T. clinic as a technician, and does a few other odd jobs (tutoring, cleaning homes). I'm still teaching computer and yearbook while working at the church. Our 1st anniversary is coming up soon, and we're looking forward to getting a dog that weekend. The timing worked out very well for us to go away for our anniversary, and pick up the dog - a beagle - at the breeder's the same weekend. We're both excited about the 1st addition to our family! :)
Anyway, that's a brief update. Like I said above, my life should start becoming a little less hectic soon, and I hope to post more this summer and perhaps into the fall too. I know - surprise, surprise!!!
